John Campbell received a visit Thursday from Auburn offensive coordinator and area recruiter Chip Lindsey.

Campbell, a four-star offensive tackle from Dr. Phillips in Orlando, Fla., will visit Lindsey in Auburn soon.

“I’m not sure the date, but I will be back in Auburn in the summer,” Campbell said. “I’ve been there before and really like it. I’ll be ready to go back.”

Campbell lists Auburn among the schools he’s considering, and the coaching staff is one of the reasons why. Campbell knows Lindsey, and stays in contact with offensive line coach Herb Hand.

“I know Coach Hand pretty good,” Campbell said. “He always texts me and stuff. I like Coach Hand. He’s a good person and a good coach.”

Campbell also likes the offensive line tradition at Auburn.

“Auburn breeds good offensive linemen, and I like how their program is,” Campbell said. “They care for their players.”

Auburn, Miami, Tennessee, Florida, Alabama, Ole Miss, Oregon and Georgia as schools he’s considering. He’s visited many, including Florida, Miami, Georgia and Auburn, and feels confident he’ll be ready to make a commitment before the end of the summer.

“I don’t have the schools in any order,” Campbell said. “Everybody is the same right now, but I’m going to make my decision in July.”

Campbell said he’d still take all five of his official visits before signing in February.

Rivals ranks Campbell, who stands 6-foot-5 and weighs 290 pounds, the No. 11 offensive tackle in the 2018 class, No. 120 in the Rivals250 and the No. 31 player in Florida.
