The commitment comes only a few days after his first ever visit to Gainesville.
After returning home and thinking on it and talking with family, Taylor felt okay with going public on his decision.
"I felt like it's great opportunity for me to go to the league," said Taylor. "It's DBU, so they want the great DB's and I think that I am one of them. So I called coach [Jim] McElwain and coach Cal [Kirk Callahan]."
Though the Gators are dealing with football Media Day today in Gainesville, the staff was still very excited when they received word of the commitment from the three-star defender.
"The coaches were very happy and Coach Mac said they were jumping around and just happy to have me."
The 6-foot-2, 192-pounder chose the Gators over Auburn, Louisville, Mississippi State and others. According to him, it was the time he spent in Gainesville a few days ago is what gave him the go ahead to join the Florida family.
"First the coaches are great they have a lot of energy and they were happy to see me. The facilities are really nice and in a year it will be even more upgraded.
