All Access - Muschamp goes through the car wash

Florida head coach Will Muschamp stopped by the ESPN campus in Bristol, Conn., Tuesday as part of the network's "car wash" in which sports persona's appear on numerous shows on a variety of platforms in one day. Muschamp had 12 stops. Here are a few things we learned from Florida's head coach.

- For the second year in a row, Muschamp picked up a rider on his way to Bristol. That passenger just happened to be former UF Heisman trophy winner and head coach Steve Spurrier. The Florida jet stopped in Columbia, S.C., to give the Old Ball Coach some transportation to ESPN. Muschamp joked that Spurrier would have to talk to new South Carolina athletic director Ray Tanner about getting his own plane.

- A head coach might be hesitant to talk about a running back who predicts a 1,500-yard season despite never having been a college feature back in the past. That's exactly what senior Mike Gillislee did at SEC Media Days, and of course Muschamp was asked about it Tuesday: "I'm excited he's got confidence in himself and our offensive line."

- Penn State was a continual talking point of the day among the SEC coaches visiting ESPN. The coaches generally skated around the question regarding their thoughts on the situation but most were willing to talk about the possibility of bringing in transfers from Penn State. Alabama head coach Nick Saban said he would entertain any player who is interested in the Crimson Tide. Muschamp was a bit more standoffish: "I think you gotta be very careful. We're very close to the season right now. Our players work really hard, and I love the chemistry in our locker room right now. You can disrupt your football team very easily by bringing somebody from the outside if it's not the right fit."

- Muschamp may be asking fans to be "realistic" about this season, but he is certainly not shy about how he feels regarding the SEC's chances to win another national championship in 2012. When asked who he felt had the best chance to end the conference's streak of national championships, Muschamp responded, "No one."

- Junior Buck linebacker Ronald Powell was another popular topic as he tries to return from an ACL injury. Muschamp namedropped Lerentee McCray and Neiron Ball as players who need to step up while Florida waits for Powell to return. But without going into specifics, Muschamp made sure there were some younger guys on the radar as well. "We might have to have some freshmen help us out there," he said.

- While doing a spot for the Scott Van Pelt Show, Muschamp was asked how much he keeps in touch with other coaches for advice. He said he doesn't talk to other coaches too often because most of the guys he knows are part of teams his team has to play against and beat. Muschamp said he talks to Texas head coach Mack Brown "every now and then."

- If you were expecting earth-shattering new on the quarterback situation Tuesday, you've probably been sleeping all off-season. Muschamp went with his typical line that Florida can win with either Jacoby Brissett or Jeff Driskel. He added that he will pay close attention to both during fall camp in hopes that one of them creates some separation. He said he will be looking for the quarterback who can spread the field vertically the best while also taking care of the ball and managing the offense.
