Atkins clears up the rumors

After a weekend of of speculation concerning the verbal commitment of Daytona Beach (Fla.) Mainland cornerback Avery Atkins, the four-star cornerback cleared up rumors concerning his commitment to UF.
“I am still committed,” Atkins said. “What happened is that I said I am still open to other schools, but I am committed to Florida.”
Atkins, the No.53 ranked player in the country, is currently on an unofficial trip to LSU.
Atkins, 5-11 and 185 pounds, was one of five verbal commitments last week for UF and one of four verbal commitments on July 12 joining Vladimir Richard, Demetrice Morley and Gerald Williams.
