Gabe DeArmond of PowerMizzou.com answers an array of questions about the Missouri football program in advance of the Tigers' Saturday matchup with the No. 18 Florida Gators set to take place in The Swamp at 4 p.m. ET and air on the SEC Network.
It's been an inconsistent start to the season for Missouri (2-3, 0-2 SEC) under first-year head coach Barry Odom. Take us through what the main issues have been there.
GA: The main issue is that they don't have a ton of talent on the roster. This is a rebuilding program. The season is going to be measured by the four week stretch against Middle Tennessee, Vandy, South Carolina and Kentucky. If Mizzou can win those four and get back to a bowl game, that's progress. Incremental rather than monumental, but still progress.
They're still limited offensively, the defense hasn't played as well as last year and they gave away a game they should have won against Georgia (which is pretty typical of an inconsistent young team). If they would have won that one, most people would have a far different outlook on the first half of the season. But realistically, most probably expected (or should have) Missouri to be 2-4 after the trip to Gainesville.
