With just five weeks remaining in the 2017 recruiting cycle Florida currently stands with 14 public commitments and room to take 10 or so more. The bad news is that the Gators are ranked 24th in the Rivals.com Team Recruiting Rankings. The good news is, other than perhaps defensive tackle, there are enough prospects remaining on the board for Florida to fill their needs while at the same time move up in the rankings.
Here is an in-depth rundown of the eight biggest remaining needs that have to be filled along with a dream candidate and a current best guess.
#8Â REMAINING NEED Â
RUNNING BACK
Florida already has a commitment from four-star Malik Davis in the books. However, with Jordan Cronkrite deciding to transfer there is still a need at this position.
Dream Signee: Four-star running back Adarius Lemons - The former Florida commit was a guy the staff was very happy to land back in the summer when he flipped from North Carolina. Though he’s had some off-field-issues there is a still a chance for him to right the ship. Lemons is one of the best backs in the state of Florida, but saw his ranking slip after missing his senior season due to suspension.
Current Best Guess: Lemons- His plan is to improve his ACT score and continue to keep his nose clean. If he takes care of business on his end there is no reason not to see this talented runner make his way back into Florida’s class. Lemons still wants to be a Gator - due in large part to the fact it allows him to stay close to family - he just needs the test score to get into Florida.
