Running back Iverson Clement has entered the transfer portal, becoming the second Florida player to do so this year.

Safety Quincy Lenton put his name in the portal last month and did not play for the Gators in 2020. Clement has appeared in five games, carrying the ball five times for 29 yards.

Clement rushed for 94 yards on 12 carries during his career, including a long of 41 yards against UT Martin in 2018. He played running back in all three seasons at UF, but lined up at another position as an early enrollee in 2018.

Due to injures that spring, then first-year coach Dan Mullen moved Clement from running back to safety. He played defensive back in high school and was willing to make the short-term switch, a move that Mullen praised.

"Just great for him," he said of Clement's temporary position change at the time. "He's a running back still, but he's a great team guy just going to take some reps so we can get through all the reps we need at practice. I think it's really unselfish on his part to go over there and help the team out and fill in."

The Gators have four running backs remaining on the roster, all of whom can return next season. Five-star transfer Demarkcus Bowman will also be added to the position group in January.
