On Saturday Miami (Fla.) Southridge cornerback Shawn Davis visited Florida for the fist time since he committed late last month.

“It was good,” said Davis of the visit. “It was the same as all the times before and they showed a lot of love. I talked to Randy Shannon and Coach [Torrian] Gray and it was real loud in the stadium for kind of a little game.”

The Gators defense had a standout night, giving up but 53 yards of total offense – which just happens to be a school record.

Despite the fact that Florida's defense was firing on all cylinders, the three-star pledge was still able to see that there's a need at his position.

“I like the defense and I see it as the coaches telling me the truth,” explained Davis. “They need some defensive backs that are able to come in to play right away.”

Going forward the 6-foot-1, 195-pounder has official visits to other campuses on his mind. When asked of possible destinations Davis expressed interest in seeing schools farther away from the Sunshine State.

“Probably USC, Oregon State, and the real far offers I have and then I am coming back to Florida for the LSU game [for an unofficial visit.]”
