Decision week for Azeez Ojulari and he feels ready
Commitment Watch is on for multiple schools this week. Marietta (Ga.) 4-star rush end Azeez Ojulari is set to commit at his school Thursday August 17th at 2:45pm ET.
He was very busy over the summer taking trips, seeing different schools and searching for that perfect fit. Ojulari feels he has found that.
"I am ready, I am comfortable and I am set to make my decision," said Ojulari. "I have visited each school on my list and I am ready.
"It has been tough to get here because there are so many good schools involved. Each school offers great things and it was not an easy decision. I can't really go wrong, so it is about where I felt most comfortable and it was a very hard decision to make."
Ojulari is still doing his best not to tip his hand on who he will select Thursday. He is keeping six schools on the list just days away from his announcement.
"Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, Clemson and Auburn are the ones I am down to. I like those six schools a lot and I feel I cannot go wrong with any of them."
Is his mind completely made up? Is he preparing for that big speech on Thursday with just one school in mind?
This has been a pretty quick, yet busy process for the top 30 prospect in Georgia. His recruitment really took off early this year and he quickly became a national name.
After some visits early in 2017, then more in the spring and early in the summer, one school started to stick out to Ojulari. That is when a school started to emerge in his mind.
"It started happening for me over the summer. I started to lean towards a school late in June or early in July. It was about the bond with the coaches first, then it was how I got along with the players and just how I felt when I got on that campus.
"My feelings for that school have just gotten stronger now and that is why I am ready to make my decision."
The decision will not be made alone. Ojulari is the prospect, all of the attention is on him, but he has had some real help along the way.
"My head coach (Richard Morgan), my mom and dad, my brothers and sisters have all helped me with my decision. My family was on every visit with me, we have discussed this almost every night for a while and they have helped me a lot.
"We talk about everything, but more than anything, my parents have talked about the after-life, once football is over. We talk about jobs, who could set me up best for that and things like that. I have not made this decision on my own. I have had a lot of help."
Now, all will have to wait to see who Ojulari chooses on Thursday. Not only will fans and other recruits have to wait to find out the news, but the college coaches do not know yet either.
He may not tell them until after the news is out.
"I have not decided when I will tell all of the schools where I am going yet," said Ojulari. "I may tell them right before the press conference or I may wait until afterwards. I am still working on that."
