It is not an easy task for a school to recruit a dual-sport athlete.

For one, the programs of both sports he or she intends on playing at the next level need to each dish out an offer to the prospect. Also, the coaching staffs have to both be on the same page, especially when obligations for one team could potentially interfere with their requirements for the other sport.

While this situation could present some hurdles, Florida is having no trouble when it comes to their pursuit of Tre Donaldson. The Tallahassee-based prospect is in touch with UF’s basketball and football coaches multiple times per week, and is being shown that he’s a priority for each program.

“I talked to coach Mullen the other day. I talk to coach English a lot because if I was to play at UF, that would be my position coach,” Donaldson told GatorsTerritory. “With coach Mullen being the head coach, I definitely talk with him a lot, as much as I can. And then coach English, as I said in another interview, we’ve built a great, great relationship. Me and coach Mullen have, too, and it continues to grow.”
