1. There’s no coming back from a loss like that: After Saturday’s blowout, there’s no way Jim McElwain survives as Florida’s head coach. He might be fired Sunday. It might be later in the year, but it’s hard to believe it’s not over for the third-year coach.
Coming off a bye week, friction was exposed between the coach and the athletic department. Prior to kickoff, the communication’s staff had to address reports that McElwain’s buyout was being negotiated. After an embarrassing performance on the field, even with two weeks to prepare, it’s safe to say those negotiations should be happening even if Florida is saying otherwise.
