Five Florida storylines for National Signing Day

With the start of National Signing Day just hours away, the Gators have been gaining some momentum as of late on the recruiting trail. On Monday UF landed three recruits, four-stars Jordan Scarlett and Chris Williamson and three-star Kylan Johnson, to bump its class to 16 members and help it jump to No. 55 in Rivals' team recruiting rankings.
Still, Wednesday will be the day that will shape how Jim McElwain's initial class looks. Here are five storylines to follow on NSD as the day we've all been waiting for is finally upon us.

Will the Gators land a five-star?
With his Twitter account deactivated for now, Byron Cowart will make perhaps the biggest decision of his life Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. between Florida and Auburn to kick off the Signing Day madness. Cowart took this weekend off and spend it with his family after visiting Will Muschamp Auburn two weekends ago and spending a short amount of time with McElwain at UF during an unofficial visit - one that saw Cowart leave early that Saturday when his mother was called into work back home. Regardless, both schools feel confident in their chances of landing the five-star Seffner (Fla.) defensive end. Martez Ivey's instance is another of the many battles between Florida and Auburn in this recruiting cycle. The Apopka (Fla.) offensive tackle will make his decision at 11 a.m. and would be a key addition that would see immediate playing time if he indeed chooses the Gators, but it's still a back-and-forth battle between both schools. Meanwhile, CeCe Jefferson will choose between Alabama, Auburn, Florida and Ole Miss. The Gators have a good shot at Jefferson, but then again Jefferson has been good at leaving people guessing throughout this process.
How many more offensive weapons will the Gators land on NSD?
Scarlett, a Rivals250 tailback, was a huge pick-up Monday and one that'll likely see an immediate role with the team in 2015. Still, Florida has much more work to do on offense. Rivals250 running back Jordan Cronkrite, who is deciding between Florida and West Virginia at 2:15 p.m., appears a Gators lean. Four-star receiver Ryan Davis, who will decide between Florida and Auburn at 10 a.m., is also a big name to watch. The Gators are also in play for four-star halfback D'Anfernee McGriff, who recently decommitted from Auburn, but his grades will play a factor into where he goes. The additions of four-stars Antonio Callaway (choosing between Florida, Miami and West Virginia) and athlete Javarius Davis (choosing between Florida, Auburn and Louisville) could also help bolster an offense in need of playmakers.
Does Florida land a quarterback Wednesday?
Really, the only two on the Gators' radar from the 2015 class are FSU commit Deondre Francois and Louisville commit Lamar Jackson. After the tweet controversy, Francois reportedly still has the Gators in mind, but says he is a solid commitment to the 'Noles. What may have made it more firm was fellow four-star quarterback Kai Locksley flipping from FSU to Texas last night. Jackson, who visited UF last weekend on an official, will announce his decision between Florida and Louisville at 11:30 a.m. Still, he may be a hard one to switch. Unless Florida can flip one of those two, it'll likely wrap up its 2015 class without signing a quarterback.
How will the offensive line round out?
The Gators enter next season with eight returning scholarship linemen but are set to add at least five - Richerd Desir-Jones, Michael Horton, Fred Johnson, Tyler Jordan and Brandon Sandifer - after Wednesday. A haul in the range of 6-8 new offensive linemen would be a success for McElwain and his staff. Ivey is obviously the top target here, but three-star tackle and recent Cal decommit Nick Buchanan, four-star tackle and Miami commit Tyree St. Louis and recently offered three-star Mississippi State commit Darryl Williams, a three-star guard, are all on the Gators' radar. Buchanan is torn between Florida and Georgia, St. Louis still remains committed to the Canes after visiting Gainesville last weekend and Williams could be a potential flip.
Will all of Florida's commitments stick?
Unless something absolutely shocking happens, really the only two UF commits on flip watch right now are three-star wide receiver Derrick Dillon and three-star offensive guard Horton. Dillon is expected to flip to LSU, which is closer to his home in Franklinton, La. Ever since UF's coaching switch, LSU's offer and his official visit to Baton Rouge, Dillon's commitment to the Gators has appeared to weaken. Instead of visiting Gainesville this past weekend, he chose to spend it with family and weigh his options. Meanwhile, Horton visited Auburn this past weekend, but said he's still committed to Florida. Odds are that he sticks with the Gators, but it's still worth following.
