Christchurch School 2014 forward Devin Robinson ended his recruitment today by verbally committing to Florida over his other three finalists at a ceremony at his school.

"I just felt very comfortable with Coach Donovan," Robinson said. "He is a great coach, a Hall of Fame coach. He has a history of getting players like me to the NBA and that's my ultimate goal to get to the NBA. Coach Donovan is a straight up guy, he never lied to me."
Robinson's parents also felt good about the head Gator.
"They like him," said Robinson. "My parents think he's a nice guy, respectable and cares about his players."
Although head coaches usually get the credit when a prospect commits, it's often an assistant coach that lays the foundation of their recruitment. We asked Robinson about his lead recruiter Rashon Burno.
"We talk like almost every day," said Robinson. "He told me I was a priority for them, he's a great guy and I can relate to him a lot. In fact all the assistant coaches were real nice."
It seems like an eternity ago that Robinson began taking his official visits (September 13th) to his other finalists: Oklahoma State, Notre Dame and Indiana. But the Christchurch senior carried a secret on each of those visits.
"I already had an idea I liked Florida," he said. "Last week I thought about it real hard, sat down and talked to my family and my coaches. I almost committed last Friday."
Robinson said the Gators see him as a mix between Mike Miller (shooting & passing), Chandler Parsons (rebounding & slashing) and Corey Brewer (athleticism).
Robinson joins Jacksonville (Fla.) Arlington Country Day shooting guard Brandone Francis and Memphis (Tenn.) White Station point guard Chris Chiozza in the Gators' 2014 recruiting class.
"I'm excited to come to Gainesville," said Robinson. "I can't wait be a Gator."
Scouting Report
Originally from the Washington, DC area, Robinson is a five-star prospect ranked No. 20 in the Rivals150. The small forward can shoot it from deep, is athletic and is a good passer that looks to get his teammates involved and is very competitive. Listed at 6-foot-8 and 180 pounds Robinson reclassified after his original junior year in 2011-12. Robinson averaged 22 points and 11 rebounds for the 2012-13 season and led Christchurch to a state championship. He was named the Virginia private school Player of the Year.
Inside the Gators caught Robinson in action in Orlando at the AAU Nationals, part of the Champion ESPN Games. One of the best words to describe Robinson is multifaceted. He was a smooth almost natural scorer (he had 22 pts in the game we watched), can shoot it from deep, is athletic, a good passer that looks to get his teammates involved and will go after rebounds. His motor isn't bad, but could use some work. Robinson definitely has the tools to be a complete player once he adds strength to his lean frame.
