In what can only be described as a surprise, earlier this week Florida extended an offer to Lakeland (Fla.) Victory Christian Academy sleeper defensive end Abule Abadi-Fitzgerald.

According to his high school head coach Tommy Lewis, the Gators have been evaluating Abadi-Fitzgerald since just after Christmas, and extended an offer after sending numerous coaches to visit him on Monday.

FEARLESS FORECAST: PREDICTING WHERE FLORIDA TARGETS SIGN

“Coach Mac [Jim McElwain] came by during school and met with him,” explained Lewis. “Then later that evening Coach Mac, Coach [Chris] Rumph, Coach [Kerry] Dixon, and Coach [Torrian] Gray went to his basketball game. Kentucky actually came by for that basketball game too, so it was kind of funny to see them both there. Kentucky offered last weekend, and Florida didn’t officially offer till Monday night.”
