Florida in contact with committed lineman

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. | This past Friday evening Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast offensive tackle William Sweet had the tall task of blocking five-star defensive end CeCe Jefferson. During the game, for the most part, Sweet held his own against Jefferson, but did give up one sack and some penetration in the win.
"He is a good player," said Sweet of Jefferson. "He is definitely very explosive and he is a great kid also off the field. We are cool and he is a great player and it was good going against him."

The three-star tackle surprised many on the recruiting trail when he committed to North Carolina last month. According to Sweet things are going great with his pledge to the Tarheels.
"Everything is good," said Sweet of his commitment. "They can't wait till I get there. I am working hard in school and on the field and I am excited. It's a blessing."
For Sweet, it was much more than just football that went into his decision to pull the trigger for UNC.
"It's the perfect fit for me and academically they are one of the best in the country," added Sweet. "I felt at home and God forbid if I was to get hurt or anything I would love to still be around those people. I'm a Tarheel."
Though the 6-foot-7, 280-pounder has recruiting out of the way, other schools are still coming after here as there were quite a few college coaches on the sidelines to watch his spring game.
"Auburn was at the game tonight, Florida was at the game tonight, Pittsburg was here, Alabama was here. It's a blessing and I am just trying to take it one day at a time."
Since his commitment to North Carolina Sweet has also been to Gainesville for a visit.
"It was fun I mainly went because my cousin was graduating from Florida," said Sweet. "I stopped by to say hello to everybody and just check it out. They [the Florida coaches] don't want me to leave the state of Florida and they want to make sure I made the right decision."
Though Sweet maintains he is solid to North Carolina, he still has some interest in taking visits in the fall. However, he isn't sure of where he would even want to go just yet.
"I'm not sure yet but I definitely want to take some official visits," noted Sweet. "I am not sure of where I want to go right now."
