During the spring evaluation period, in an attempt to bolster their board, the Florida staff saw a multiple of linebacker prospects both in the state of Florida and around the country.

One such prospect the staff eyeballed during that stretch of time was Bartow (Fla.) linebacker Lionel “L.J” Cummings. The two-star defender currently does not have an offer from the Gators, but says he’s heard a good bit from the Florida staff since the spring.

“They say they like how I have been active with camps this spring and summer, but they want me to get better at moving through my hips. They say they want to keep watching me and the effort I put in,” explained Cummings. “They had Coach [Randy] Shannon, Coach [Geoff] Collins, and Coach [Torrian] Gray by during spring football. They talk with my head coach a lot too.”
