Maurice Goolsby has been part of the recruiting landscape in Florida since he was in eighth grade, so the class-of-2019 wide receiver’s commitment to Florida doesn’t seem as rash some other early pledges.

Goolsby, who has boasted a list of scholarship offers for years, announced his commitment to the in-state program on Saturday morning with a tweet. The high four-star wide receiver composed a short message, hit the send button and got the weekends of Gator fans off to a solid start.

"I committed to Florida because the relationship I have with the coaches," Goolsby said via text message. "They have the best interest at heart for me. It was my dream school growing up, too."

The 6-foot-5 Goolsby, who attends Florida’s Dunnellon High School. is one of the highest ranked prospects in the 2019 class and will likely spend the year ahead battling for five-star status. He chose UF over offers from Florida State, Louisville, UCLA and others.

He is Florida's sixth commitment in what is shaping up to be a loaded 2019 recruiting class.
