On Monday Florida received what may seem like a surprise commitment - coming from a prospect familiar to the Gator Nation, even if he is a blast from the past.

Defensive back Deontai Williams, who originally committed to Florida out of Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Catholic back in January of 2014 as part of the Class of 2015.

The 6-foot, 178-pounder remained a part of Florida's commitment list until July of that year, at which time he flipped to Georgia.

However, he didn't end up as part of the Bulldogs' signing class. He actually signed with Ohio - but by that time, quite honestly, had fallen off the radar.

He ended up at Ellisville (Ms.) Jones County Junior College - and is now a part of Florida's commitment list once again after tweeting out this morning that he has pledged to the Gators.

Florida head coach Jim McElwain sent out his confirmation - congratulatory tweet not long afterward.
