Florida's search for tight ends in this recruiting cycle has already led them north of the border once.
The question now is, without many options in-state, could they attempt to double-dip in the Peach State?
The Gators currently have a commitment from Valdosta (Ga.) Lowndes County three-star Jalen Goss.
On Thursday, Florida extended an offer to Atlanta (Ga.) Marist School tight end John FitzPatrick.
At this point Goss, who plays offensive line for his high school, is seen more as a candidate to be an in-line blocker more so than a receiving threat on the next level.
FitzPatrick on the other hand is a pure pass-catching tight end.
During April's 3 Stripe Camp stop in Atlanta he was signaled out as the best at his position based entirely on his ability in the passing game.

From the Rivals Analysts: FitzPatrick kind of stole the show, from early in the day when he hurdled a linebacker in the cat and mouse competition to the way he was hauling in pass after pass. Defenders were holding, grabbing and tackling him to slow him down and it just didn't work.

“It was a great experience, I had a great time competing,” said FitzPatrick. “Some of the best linebackers and defensive backs were there. We were all out there competing hard, showing what we have.”
One thing Fitzpatrick has is the attention of many of college football programs coast-to-coast.
He is in possession of 45 offers to date – and the list continues to grow.
When asked if any of the offers he has received caused him to have an 'Oh wow' moment, he replied, “Every offer meant a lot to me. I couldn't say that one means more than the other. I haven't even visited a lot of these places, so I don't know enough about all of them to say that I am impressed with one or two. I am honored to have each of them. Now I have to go out and see some of them I haven't seen and see what their school and academics are all about.”
Over the spring FitzPatrick visited three schools.
