In Caleb Brantley, Bryan Cox, and Joey Ivie Florida lost three key contributors along the defensive line to graduation or the early entry to the NFL Draft. In order to help offset those losses, head coach Jim McElwain and staff are looking to add two giants to help solidify the depth on the line.

Breyon and Brandon Gaddy spent this final weekend before Signing Day at the University of Florida on an official visit to see if it’s where they want to commit to playing their college ball and getting their education. Currently they are both committed to Maryland, but since the start of the new year, McElwain and company have been pushing hard.

The duo provided two different visit highlights:

One loved being at McElwain’s house on Sunday morning while the other signaled that the overall visit stood out.

“Everything about it was great,” Brandon said of the trip to McElwain's house. “It’s huge and the food was fantastic.”

Breyon added, “I like meeting the players and seeing how they react to new people coming in. Just being part of their family was special. Give it (visit) a nine out of 10.”

Brandon is listed at 6-foot-4, 260 pounds, but he's not even the biggest of the two. Brother Breyon comes in at a massive 6-foot-5, 335 pounds. They both want to make a decision together and they didn’t feel pressure to flip commitments on the spot.

“They told us to go back home and talk with everybody, then let them know,” Brandon said.

Breyon especially knows about the team’s situation along the defensive line. “They need defensive linemen really bad,” he added. “I think we can help out a lot because they don’t have that many players at our position - so we can add depth.”

Picking a school doesn’t come down to just how early one can play. It is also has a lot to do with the player-coach relationships. Brandon took note of that dynamic between McElwain and the current players. “I like the relationships the players have with the coaching staff. I really like Coach Mac. He’s pretty intense, but he’s also real cool.”

Signing Day is this coming Wednesday. If the Gators are able to add these two brothers, it would certainly help them finish strong in what has been a tough cycle for them.
