Former Florida Player Feedback: Church's 10 Observations

Former Florida defensive end Johnie Church (1992-1995) shares 10 observations from the Gators' 31-13 loss to Florida State.

1) I feel really sorry for our defense! They don't deserve this and it's not good for their mental nor physical health.

2) I'm still trying to understand going empty backfield so often when our pass-blocking is struggling. It makes zero sense.

3) We need to "teach" our quarterbacks how to throw the ball away. Too many times we held the ball forever for no apparent reason.

4) I could be totally wrong, but I can't see us sticking with our current offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier. We have offensive talent, so it really puts a giant spotlight on our offensive coordinator when we have consistently performed below grade for two seasons.

5) Our backfield missed a ton of Florida State blitzers in the passing game. Two of the misses cost us potential touchdowns.
