"Florida called and offered me a scholarship," said O'Brien. "Coach Bryant [Young] just called and said that I had an offer from Florida and that I was great player," O'Brien said.
The Florida staff has had nothing but good things to say about the 6-foot-2, 293 pound O'Brien.
"Coach Bryant says he loves the way I play and that I'm a good person and he wants me down there."
The Rivals250 member, who plans to cut down his list in order to have a top six by July, says a few programs are recruiting him the hardest right now.
"Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, Michigan, Michigan State, and Iowa are hard after me right now."
O'Brien talked about a few of the programs and what it is he likes about them.
Alabama: "They have great tradition and a great staff. I love Coach Saban. I mean look at his resume. They also are always in contention and produce a ton of NFL players. Plus they are in the SEC."
Florida: "They are recruiting me to play the nose tackle position in the 3-4. Also I love Coach Young. I mean what a great person to learn from. He has tons of experience and accomplishments at the next level. It would be a great opportunity to learn from him. And the SEC again."
Tennessee: "They were my first offer and I have the best relationship with their coaches. I'm very comfortable with their coaches. I fit in very well with there defense."
Michigan: "They are my hometown school. Great staff and great defense. They also are putting together a great recruiting class some of my best friends are in the class too."
O'Brien says he will make a decision after the season and he says he is sure of one thing that will not go into his decision.
