Friday Night Lights Countdown: #5 Proctor
The summer college football camp season comes to an end this week with Florida staging their annual Friday Night Lights Camp.
FNL, which can draw anywhere from 15 or more four and five star prospects, has long been considered one of the premiere college camps of the summer.
Even at an event such as this, for whatever reason, there's still a handful of prospects we are looking forward to seeing more than the others.
This week Inside the Gators will countdown the five prospects we most anticipate seeing on Friday night under the lights.
#5 Indian Head (M.D.) Lackey Rivals250 linebacker Nathan Proctor
Competition: Maryland, Penn State, Pittsburgh and others
Analyst Reaction: "Proctor is an athletic kid who does a good job getting into the backfield off the edge and can drop in coverage. He's thin with a good frame to add weight and I see him as a weak side linebacker. An excellent blitzer at the next level who can string things out as well. He's aggressive, so that would fit Florida's style on defense." – Rivals.com National Recruiting Director Mike Farrell
Blake’s Take: “The Gators have their man in the middle in Ventrell Millers, so now the focus goes on adding some outside linebackers to the mix. The Gators current linebacker board is a bit barren, so they will likely use this final stretch before the fall to add some new names to the mix. Proctor has held a Gators offer for a while now, but this visit will be his first ever to Gainesville. This camp will give the staff a chance to eyeball Proctor in person, and you can bet if he passes the eye test the staff will look to try to become a major player for him going forward.
