Gators hard after nations No. 10 rated prospect

With well over 25 offers to date it's no secret that five star Tampa (Fla.) Wharton cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III is a very talented, much sought after prospect. With Florida grabbing but two cornerbacks in the last recruiting cycle the Gators are unquestionably interested in grabbing this Sunshine State standout.
Therefore it was no surprise when asked which schools are the most persistent in talking with him Hargreaves mentioned the Gators on that list.

"The recruiting process has been a wild ride for me so far; a lot to take in, but schools that I've noticed schools that are after me the most are Florida, USC, Michigan, and Notre Dame," Hargreaves told Inside the Gators.
Surprisingly Florida was the lone instate school who stuck out as recruiting him the hardest despite the fact that he is the No. 2 rated prospect in the state and the son of a South Florida assistant coach.
Hargreaves said that when Florida contacts him its hardly about football anymore.
"I've already built a great relationship with the defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson. So whenever we talk it's mostly about other stuff like my track season, what's going on in school and my grades, and he will fill me in on what's going on with Florida overall."
Hargreaves father, also named Vernon Hargreaves, is a defensive ends and special teams coach for the hometown USF bulls. Living in the same household as a college coach one would think that Hargreaves father is his biggest suitor, but that's not that case.
"I actually haven't really seen USF's campus as much as people think; I went to a Junior Day there, but that's just a glimpse of the campus. I mean I've know that coaching staff since I was a baby they go back to when my dad coached at UConn, being close to them will be a factor but USF will have to be a place I go even if my dad wasn't there."
Besides USF, the only other two places that the 5-foot-10, 175 pound has looked into was Florida State and Florida.

"Florida State was cool, I went for a camp with their defensive coordinator Greg Hudson's son, and he coached with us at ECU. He showed me around the place, I liked it. At Florida I went over summer Coach Robinson gave me a tour around to see like the facilities and the field and stuff like that."
The nation's 10th overall prospect says that he has no real hard and fast leaders at this point, and hasn't really thought about where he wants to visit this spring, but Gainesville could be a destination.
"The only spring practices that I could see myself going to see are at Florida, I don't really plan on going to spring games anywhere though; my dad is a coach so I've seen enough spring games already, over summer is when I want to take my unofficial visits."
