Gators high on what Shannon could bring to table as defensive coordinator
While co-defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Randy Shannon is set to serve as the Gators' interim defensive coordinator in their bowl game against Iowa, Florida is yet to make an official announcement on who will replace Geoff Collins at that spot long-term.
However, right now Shannon appears to be the obvious favorite for the job - and Florida promoting him to defensive coordinator would make sense for a number of reasons.
Speaking to the media Friday, a number of Gators on the defensive side of the ball gave their support to the idea of Shannon potentially being promoted to defensive coordinator past this season.
