Gators reel in commitment from 2021 DB Kamar Wilcoxson

Dan Mullen and the Gators are still in the midst of their matchup with Missouri, but just managed to reel in their first commitment for the class of 2021.

Kamar Wilcoxson, a talented defensive back from Stone Mountain (Ga.) Stephenson, just took the next step with Florida while being in attendance for today's Homecoming game.

Armed with roughly a dozen additional offers, including Alabama, Auburn, Texas A&M and Penn State, Wilcoxson says the Gators are recruiting him as an athlete.

"I like how they play and develop young players at DB," Wilcoxson told GatorsTerritory. "I can tell coach Mullen has his players' best interest at heart just by the conversation we had before I committed.

"Today was the right time because it’s been on my mind for a minute, but when I could get down and talk to coach Mullen face-to-face and see where his mind was, I knew this was the school for me."

Wilcoxson, who was offered by the Gators earlier this year, is projected to suit up in the defensive backfield once arriving on the college scene.
