Gators Set to Sign Top-Five Class

The early signing period for Division I college basketball begins today and runs through November 21 and each of Florida’s verbal commits are all expected to sign their National Letter of Intent (N.L.I.) and fax them to UF today.

At this moment Florida's four-man 2019 recruiting class is ranked No. 4 nationally, behind only USC, Villanova and Louisville. The Gators class is ranked No. 1 in the SEC.

Starting things off for the Gators will be five-star wing Scottie Lewis – currently ranked No. 13 in the Rivals150 – and his Ranney School (N.J.) teammate Alex Klatsky. They will be signing during a ceremony at their school.

Shortly after the signing day event ends in New Jersey, four-star power forward Omar Payne will be putting his signature on a N.L.I. at a ceremony at Montverde Academy. That event is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. Payne, currently the No. 42 ranked prospect in the Rivals150, was the second recruit to verbally commit to Florida.

Later in the day five-star guard Tre Mann, the first member of the 2019 class to verbally commit to Florida, will walk into The Villages High School Gymnasium to sign his N.L.I. to play at Florida. Currently the No. 23 ranked prospect in the Rivals150, Mann’s signing day ceremony is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.

Landing three of the top-50 prospects in the nation has only happened at Florida two other times this century:

2014: Devin Robinson, Chris Chiozza and Brandone Francis-Ramirez.

2007: Nick Calathes, Chandler Parson and Jal Lucas signed. (Alex Tyus and Adam Allen were also members of that class).
