After taking the week off from practicing for spring break, the Florida football team resumed spring camp with its third practice of the 2017 offseason Tuesday afternoon.
However, the Gators didn't skip a beat, as number players spent the break last week working out in their hometowns (as evidenced by numerous posts on social media).
"I was really proud of them," Florida head coach Jim McElwain said. "We asked them to take some workouts with them and make sure they come back and they took it to heart. A lot of them got together in certain areas that they were at. Some guys worked out obviously a lot of them at their high schools or whatever. I could see that there was a lot, a lot of guys got a lot done over the break.
"I think that speaks a little bit kind of why I'm so excited about this team. They really have focused on what they need to do to get better, and part of that is accepting the responsibility to keep pushing yourself and that's what we've seen."
Florida went without pads Tuesday, but the Gators will wear shells Thursday and then hold their first spring practice in full pads Saturday.
Inside the Gators was on deck for the open portion at the start of Tuesday's practice that included flex period, an 11-on-11 fastball period and other select periods. Below are observations from what we were able to catch Tuesday.
