With one-third of the 2016 regular season now in the books for the Florida Gators football team, Inside the Gators now grades the current depth chart. Today, we start with the offense.
PLAYER | GRADE | THE SKINNY |
---|---|---|
1. Luke Del Rio |
B |
Through Florida's first three games Del Rio was mostly effective as the Gators' starting quarterback, completing , despite making some questionable throws from time to time. He suffered a sprained MCL against North Texas that has kept him sidelined recently and has him "highly doubtful" against Vanderbilt. |
2. Austin Appleby |
B+ |
Appleby's sample size is smaller to draw from than Del Rio's, but he certainly looked promising during the first half of the Tennessee game before Florida played it close to the vest with its offensive game plan. Appleby has the chance to rekindle the competition if he performs well at Vanderbilt this weekend. |
