Todd Grantham isn’t interested in sticking to a particular playbook. He’s interested in creating habits.

“I really like the way our players approach what we ask them to do,” Grantham says.

“We're working hard to develop the identity that we need. We're working hard to develop the habitual traits you need to be successful in this league. We're not there yet, but we have the right mindset and the right attitude that will get us where we need to be.”

Grantham, the Florida Gators new defensive coordinator, met with reporters on Tuesday to explain the vision he has for his players heading into the 2018 season. Taking time to learn the new personnel means schematics and specifics will wait a while but he is determined to implement three traits in every player.

“I’m not really worried about what happened last year. I’m worried about what’s going to happen moving forward. To me it’s about understanding the work ethic, working to develop the habitual traits you need to be successful…
