Hoops: Five-star sets Florida visit

El Cajon, California (Foothills Christian High School) power forward T.J. Leaf has set up an unofficial visit to Florida for October 11. He'll actually fly in on October 10 with his parents and be on campus the following day.
Billy Donovan and Rashon Burno recently went to visit Leaf who has also had coaches from Arizona, Xavier, Michigan, UCLA and others come to see him since the recruiting period began September 9. But Leaf scheduled the unofficial visit before the Florida coaches even came to visit him.

InsideTheGators.com was on hand to watch the 6-foot-9, 210-pound Leaf in May with his Compton Magic AAU team during a 9am game on day number three of the tournament and. The long armed forward is an active rebounder, grabbing the ball with both hands, he has a quick second jump and boxes out well. Offensively he can put it on the deck and get to the rim from above the three-point line; he knocked down open three-pointers off the catch and has a very good motor.
Watching him run the lanes, step out and shoot 15-17 foot jumpers and knock down open three-pointers (he shot 44.4 percent beyond the arc on Sunday) he made me think of a young Chandler Parsons.

Florida may have a better chance than many are giving them. When asked if he was very interested in Florida Leaf replied via text "Yes sir I am." When told that he has some Chandler Parsons in him, Leaf responded "Haha I get that a lot."
Leaf will also take an unofficial visit Duke on October 25th for "Countdown to Craziness", their version of Midnight Madness.
He is ranked No. 18 by Rivals.com with five-stars.
