Huge Basketball Recruiting Weekend

During Saturday's football game against Kentucky in the Swamp Florida will hold a 10th anniversary celebration of the Gators men's basketball back-to-back NCAA Championship teams, with Billy Donovan, Corey Brewer, Joakim Noah and many other players from those teams.

The Gators will also have at least one future player in The Swamp for the celebration -- Shai Alexander-Walker the No. 53 ranked player in the Rivals150 for the 2017 class who verbally committed to Florida last November will be at Florida on his official visit.

However, Florida will will also host two other 2017 prospects on official visits who could be wearing a Gators uniform next season, combo guard Herb Jones and big man Lance Thomas. Florida's primary competition for Jones comes from Auburn and Alabama; this visit could go a long way in telling if the Gators are in serious contention for a commitment. Thomas is making his first official visit out of four that he has scheduled. Thomas is also set to visit Miami, Louisville and USC.

Alexander-Walker, Jones and Thomas highlight this weekend's Florida's visitor list. The three high school seniors will be joined by three Ranney Prep (Tinton Falls, NJ) sophomore teammates -- Alex Klatsky plus a couple of five-star prospects in Scottie Lewis and Bryan Antoine.

Also coming to Gainesville on Saturday is the IMG Academy Team, although we've been told that Isaiah Stokes will not accompany his teammates but 2018 forward Emmitt Williams will.

Stay tuned for visit recaps...
