UF on the verge of adding another Rivals100 commit?
Not only will #3 Florida take on #9 South Carolina this weekend with the SEC East Title on the line, but it is also an important weekend in recruiting as the Gators play host to three official visitors. The Gators will host their second consecutive top 10 match-up in the Swamp and will have quite a few big names that are still undeclared as well as a few big names committed elsewhere.
Florida will have three official visitors on campus this weekend, after only having one for their last home game. One of the biggest names in the official visitor category is Orlando (Fla.) Dr. Philips Rivals100 safety Marcell Harris, who is appearing at his second consecutive Florida home game.
The other two official visitors this weekend are on the offensive side of the ball. Canton (Mich.) Florida center commit Cameron Dillard and recent Michigan decommit, and good friend, Detroit (Mich.) Cass Tech Rivals250 guard David Dawson will travel to Gainesville together.
As far as Florida commits are concerned, most of the instate pledges are expected in this weekend for this match-up.
One of the biggest prospects in the nation, who is a possibility for the game this weekend, is Lake City (Fla.) Columbia five-star offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil. He may make it in on Saturday along with his teammate Shaquille Johnson. The Rivals100 member recently called the Gators his fourth place team, but if he makes it in this weekend, it will be his second straight Florida home game.
Another big unofficial visitor that will be in the Swamp this weekend is Lawrenceville (Ga.) Central Gwinnett Auburn linebacker commit Trey Johnson. A source close to the Rivals100 member told Inside the Gators that Florida was at one time his leader and that the four-star rated prospect and he will likely set up an official visit with the Gators this weekend for later in the year after having a chance to meet with the coaching staff at UF on his visit.
A few other prospects this weekend committed elsewhere are Autauga (Ala.) Academy Rivals100 tight end O.J. Howard is committed to No. 1 ranked Alabama, but he actually initiated contact with the UF staff and is expected to be in attendance.
Then there's Fort Valley (Ga.) Peach County Rivals100 wide receiver Demarcus Robinson. The Clemson commit was originally scheduled to visit UF for the LSU game, but that trip didn't take place. Now the Peach State native is making a trip to UF despite the Clemson coaches supposedly saying he shouldn't.
Robinson is still weighing out his options and is still looking into schools like Florida, Georgia, and Notre Dame.
One of the biggest names in the 2014 class making his second consecutive visit to the swamp is Davison (N.C.) Davison Day 2014 quarterback Will Grier. The 2014 pass slinger has yet to name a leader and will not until after his season, but has said Florida is a school he definitely has his eye on.
One of the top defensive lineman in the nation is also going to be attendance for the game this weekend. When McDonough (Ga.) Eagles Landing 2014 defensive end Andrew Williams makes his first visit to Florida since Friday Night Lights in July.
One of the biggest names in the class of 2014 has also confirmed that he will be at the game this weekend. Tuscaloosa (Ala.) Northridge 2014 Alabama running back commit Bo Scarbrough is making his first visit to UF this fall for the big game.
Both 2014 UF commits Ryeshene Bronson and Travonte Valentine will also be in for the game. As will 2014 FSU commits Crestview (Fla.) linebacker Denzel Ware, and Immokalee (Fla.) wide receiver J.C. Jackson.
A few other names expected in this weekend for the class of 2014 are Lithonia (Ga.) Martin Luther King corner Wesley Green, Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln corner Kendall Randolph, Tampa (Fla.) Catholic safety T.J. Harrell, Marietta (Ga.) Walton corner D.J. Smith, and Immokalee (Fla.) running back D'Ernest Johnson.
Tyrone (Ga.) Sandy Creek 2014 wide receiver and recent UGA decommitment Demarre Kitt may also make an appearance this weekend.
Finally 2015 prospects such as Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast linebacker Sherrod Pittman, Baker County defensive lineman CeCe Jefferson and Tarpon Springs (Fla.) East Lake athlete George Campbell are all going to be in Gainesville this weekend. All are considered to be among the top prospects for their class.
***Tune back in over the weekend for up-to-the minute updates and tidbits on the visitors***
