If Florida can hold on to him, Edwards could plug a hole in defense
There are many reasons why Florida has been such a defensive force for the past decade. One of the main reasons is quite obvious - competition. The Gators bring in some of the best defensive players in the country to compete against one another to see who hits the field and who doesn’t. This ‘iron sharpens iron’ mentality defensively is why Florida has remained competitive for the past year and a half with Jim McElwain’s offensive philosophy still being implemented.
With many defensive starters either graduating or potentially leaving early for the NFL Draft, there are going to be holes to fill in Gainesville.
