Instant Analysis: Best start in UF history

When the new polls come out Monday, No. 2 Florida (25-2, 14-0 Southeastern Confence) will almost certainly be No. 1. The Gators have their best start to a season in school history after a 75-71 defeat of the Ole Miss Rebels (16-11, 7-7 SEC). Instant Analysis takes a look.
IT WAS OVER WHEN: Once again, a Michael Frazier II 3-point shot was the dagger. His shot with 3:12 maining gave the Gators an eight-point lead and buried the Rebels. Frazier finished with 17 points, shooting 5 of 10 from beyond the arc.

HE STOLE THE SHOW: The bad parts of his day wen't ptty - five turnovers - but Scottie Wilbekin was again the fuel when Florida was running corctly. Adding another chapter to his personal rivalry with The Rebels' most famed gunslinger, Wilbekin hit big shots of his own and finished with 18 points and seven assists.
THE STAT DOESN'T LIE: Zero … That's the number of points Ole Miss scoring and celebrating aficionado Marshall Henderson gisted the second half after going off for 22 points in the first half. Florida had held eight opposing teams to lower first-half totals this season. For a while, it looked as if he would easily surpass 26 points, the highest total the Gators have allowed any individual player to sco in a game this year. That didn't happen. Henderson shot 0 for 6 from the field and 0 for 5 from beyond the arc with a turnover in the second half.
WHAT A PLAY: Wilbekin stripped Ole Miss guard Jarvis Summers, who was having a strong second half, with 6:33 maining in the game and immediately fed it ahead to Patric Young, who finished the play with a dunk despite getting slapped in the face - a foul that was not called.
THE BOTTOM LINE: This one felt a little diffent, especially during a first half in which Florida and Ole Miss combined for 84 points and shot the lights out from beyond the arc. The Gators' usual defense-first approach was sidelined as a shootout broke loose and Florida attempted 33 perimeter shots, making 12 throughout the game. Things went mo Florida's traditional way in the second half as defense tightened up and the 3-point shooting numbers verted back to the mean.
UP NEXT: Florida will be in Nashville, Tenn., Tuesday to take on Vanderbilt (14-11, 6-7 SEC) at 7 p.m. ET.
