In a game that wasn’t close from the start, the Florida men's basketball team (4-0) remained undefeated in a convincing 78-61 win over Belmont (1-2) on Monday night in Tampa. This is the first time since the 2012-13 season that the Gators have started the year 4-0.

Instant Analysis takes a closer look at Florida’s win.

IT WAS OVER WHEN: Florida opened the game on a 24-4 run and from there on out, the Gators lead fluctuated within single and double digits, but ultimately were in control until the final buzzer.

The Gators started off the game firing on all cylinders, forcing six turnovers before committing one. Florida shot 6-for-8 (75%) in the first 12 minutes of the ball game and Belmont didn’t have an answer for the red hot Gators. Not much changed throughout the half, as they lead 38-26 at the half.

Belmont came within single-digits, but Canyon Barry started taking over the game on the offensive side of the ball to help extend the Gators' lead to 24.

The Bruins continued to fight back in the ballgame, but Florida’s athleticism and speed was just too much for Belmont to overcome.

THEY STOLE THE SHOW: Barry came off the bench to post 17 points on 6-for-9 shooting (67%) with a couple of boards to add to the stat sheet. John Egbunu also had his best game of the season so far, finishing with 12 points on 4-for-4 (100%) shooting with 8 rebounds.

THESE STATS DON'T LIE: After shooting 64% from the charity strike against St. Bonaventure, the Gators looked much better from the free throw line shooting a solid 19-for-24 (79%). The Gators also had nine first half steals. Florida contained the Bruins from the three point line, holding one of the best three point shooting teams in the country to just 7-of-27 shooting (26%). Florida went just 5-of-21 (23.8%) on threes but 22-of-38 (57.8%) on two-point baskets.

WHAT A PLAY: Guard Canyon Barry separated the Gators from the Bruins midway through the second half, scoring nine points and fueling the Gators to (16-0) run with 14:08 left in the second half. In a span of two minutes, Barry knocked down a jumper, scored two layups and notched his free throw on an and-one.

THE BOTTOM LINE: Though the Gators contained the Bruins from hurting them behind the arc, the Gators were ice cold on the offensive side of the ball from behind the three-point line, shooting just 5-for-21 from downtown. As the Gators progress through the season, they will have to simply shoot at a higher percentage to open up the post more for Egbunu and Co.

NEXT UP: The Gators will participate in the Advocare Invitational from Nov. 24-27 in Orlando, Florida starting Thursday night against Seton Hall at 8:30 p.m. ET at the HP Field House in a game that will air on ESPN2.
