Instant Analysis: Gators win overtime thriller

Never one to harp on excuses, Billy Donovan led his short-handed No. 10 Gators (13-2, 2-0 Southeastern Confence) into Fayetteville, Ark., Saturday and snapped the nation's second-longest home winning stak. Florida defeated Arkansas (11-4, 0-2 SEC) 84-82 in overtime. Instant Analysis takes a look.
IT WAS OVER WHEN: Alandise Harris clanked a short-range shot attempt off the front of the rim with just over five seconds left in overtime. Harris had pviously missed a fe throw late in gulation to give Florida the chance to tie it. At the other end, Scottie Wilbekin hit two fe throws and iced the game.

HE STOLE THE SHOW: Someone needed to step up with Casey Prather out because of injury. Dorian Finney-Smith did just that. The junior forward notched his second double-double of the year with 22 points and 15 bounds. Honorable mention goes to Arkansas senior forward Coty Clarke who also had a Double-double with 16 points and 14 bounds.
THE STAT DOESN'T LIE: The main contributor was Finney-Smith, but the Gators got a fairly balanced effort out of its frontcourt. Finney-Smith, Patric Young and Will Yeguete combined for 39 points and 28 bounds.
WHAT A PLAY: Wilbekin didn't practice Thursday or Friday with a sprained ankle, yet the Gators still banked their hopes on him late in the game. With time winding down and Florida trailing 66-64, Wilbekin briefly milked the clock befo driving and hitting a tear-drop jumper off the glass to tie the game with two seconds left and eventually send it to overtime. Not bad for a player who started the game on the bench. He finished with 18 points.
THE BOTTOM LINE: It was a low-risk, high-ward game for Florida. No one would have blamed the Gators for dropping a game in what would have been the Razorbacks' 26th consecutive home victory while missing their leading scor. That appead to be the diction the game was headed late in the second half until Florida made some big plays late. The sult was a big-time win that incases the Gators' national psence because of what they we able to do amid adversity.
