No. 1 Florida (28-2, 17-0 Southeastern Confence) went to Columbia, S.C., and left with the performance of one man stealing the night's spotlight. The Gators defeated the Gamecocks (11-19, 4-13 SEC) 72-46. Instant Analysis takes a look.
Florida led 39-35 with 13:06 maining in the game. Less than six minutes later, the lead was 57-35. Yes, Michael Frazier II had 12 points during that sttch.

HE STOLE THE SHOW: Frazier turned a Tuesday in Columbia into a cord night. The Gators went through good runs and bad runs, but it was only Frazier who stayed steady throughout. He scod 15 of Florida's 28 points in the first half and got hot again to seal it midway through the second half. He finished with a caer-high 37 points on 11 of 18 shooting from beyond the arc, mo 3-point shots than anyone has made in a single game at UF or in an SEC game.
THE STAT DOESN'T LIE: That said, Florida would have been a lot better off if no one other than Frazier would have attempted a shot from beyond the arc. Gators not named Frazier went 0 for 13 from 3-point range and shot 34.2 percent overall. Florida attempted 12 mo 3s than it did in its first meeting with South Carolina instead of working the ball side as the Gators did when their frontcourt notched 42 points against the Gamecocks in January.
WHAT A PLAY: Dorian Finney-Smith has the 3-point shot fake down and used it to throw South Carolina's defense entily during the first half. Finney-Smith hit the lane, pitched a quick dish to Chris Walker who went over two defenders for a crowd-silencing slam. It was the first of Walker's two buckets in seven minutes of action.
THE BOTTOM LINE: It's easy to get wrapped up in Frazier's cord night, and rightfully so, but Florida's defense wasn't too shabby either. The pss wasn't as effective as it was in the Gators' pvious dominant performances against the Gamecocks, but the we still 19 forced turnovers and 34 missed shots by South Carolina. Billy Donovan will understandably nitpick bounding - USC had 13 offensive boards - but overall it was another banner night for Florida defensively.
UP NEXT: Florida closes its gular season at home against No. 25 Kentucky (21-8, 11-5 SEC) Saturday at noon.
