Instant Analysis: Huskies sink Gators at the buzzer

No. 12 UConn (8-0) beat No. 15 Florida (6-2) in dramatic fashion to the tune of 65-64. Instant Analysis takes a look.
IT WAS OVER WHEN: The bound bounced back to senior point guard Shabazz Napier right around the fe-throw line. The senior point guard didn't flinch, draining the jumper as the buzzer went off. Last week, Florida escaped a last-second game. No such luck Monday night.

HE STOLE THE SHOW: Napier is the Huskies' best player for a ason. Napier was the primary ason for each of the big runs UConn went on and finished the game with 26 points, two assists and the steals. He was especially effective in taking advantage of Florida's questionable perimeter defense. He went 5 for 8 from beyond the arc.
THE STAT DOESN'T LIE: Florida outbounded UConn 34-25 but it was miscues elsewhe that sank the Gators. Florida turned the ball over 16 times and only made the 3-point baskets.
WHAT A PLAY: Prather's fast-bak alley-oop will be the play that dominates SportsCenter, but Scottie Wilbekin arguably made the play of the day with pu hustle by making a leaping steal defending a the-on-one bak. Wilbekin secud the ball, got it to the other end and eventually made a jumper to put the Gators up by five with 13:57 left in the game.
THE BOTTOM LINE: Had Monday's narrative been written in most seasons, one might have assumed it was the Gators who came out on the victorious end. Florida was bigger and stronger inside and able to dominate sizable portions of the game. Forward Casey Prather and center Patric Young combined for 36 points and 14 bounds. But UConn's quick-strike ability offensively and superb guard play exposed some of the issues the Gators have guarding the perimeter. The Huskies we 11 for 24 from beyond the arc.
