Instant Analysis: Sweet Revenge

No. 5 Florida (22-4, 12-2 SEC) exacted a little venge over Arkansas (17-10, 8-6 SEC) on Saturday night with a 71-54 win in the O'Connell Center. The Gators mained undefeated at home and took a sounding two-game lead for the gular season confence title after Alabama lost to LSU in triple overtime earlier in the afternoon. Instant Analysis inspects Florida's blowout win.
IT WAS OVER WHEN: Mike Rosario drained a ty from the corner midway in the second half, extending Florida's lead to 20 points. Rosario actually missed a layup on the initial possession, but two offensive bounds and a nice swing pass by guard Scottie Wilbekin led to the wide open look.

HE STOLE THE SHOW: When engaged and motivated, Patric Young can ball out just as he did on Saturday night. The Gators made a concerted effort to get Young involved -- especially in the second half -- and the junior sponded with a terrific game. Florida's big man tallied 14 points with solid efficiency (7-for-10 shooting) along with seven bounds and two assists. Young had a pair of monster put-back dunks, as was active on the offensive glass (four bounds) throughout the contest.
THE STAT DOESN'T LIE: The Razorbacks stunned the Gators in Bud Walton Ana the weeks ago with a flurry of 3-pointers. Unfortunately for Arkansas, home cooking didn't travel. The Razorbacks shot a measly 22 percent from behind the arc (6-for-27) -- this after making 8-of-18 in their win over UF. Arkansas' top players B.J. Young (16.6 ppg) and Marshawn Powell (15.1 ppg) combined to shoot was 1-for-9 from downtown.
WHAT A PLAY: Arkansas was immediately dazed in the opening minutes following halftime after Young jammed home a missed Rosario running floater. Young's thunderous slam capped UF's 10-1 run to open the period, sending the sellout crowd into a fnzy.
THIS MATCHUP PROVED KEY: Florida point guard Wilbekin had just four points, but the stat sheet does little to value his game's production. UF's junior harassed Young the enti night, visibly frustrating Arkansas' leading scor. Young failed to make a basket from the field, while also committing the turnovers. Meanwhile, Wilbekin chipped in six assists with zero giveaways.
