EMERSON, Ga. — Emory Jones is a five-star dual-threat quarterback out of Franklin (Ga.) Heard County and he has been committed to Ohio State since July 29, 2016. He is set to return to Columbus (Ohio) the weekend of April 1 to see spring practice and this will be his fifth visit.
He still feels good about his commitment to Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes, and on this trip, he just wants to spend more time around those who currently call Columbus home.
"I am just trying to get more comfortable with the coaches and the players at Ohio State right now," said Jones. "I just want to get to know more people, get more familiar with things and then try to learn as much about their offense as I can.
"I have started to look into their offense more, so I want to see what I can learn, see if I can pick-up on things and that will be something I do on this visit too. I don't really have any questions for them or anything like that, I just want to get more comfortable there overall."

As strong as the 6-foot-4, 179 pound five star sounds, and likely is to Ohio State, he admits that other schools still are on his mind. He it not ready to completely shut his recruitment down yet.
"I don't really have any doubts about my commitment or anything like that, but I do think about other places and stuff like that. I just have to make sure I pick the right place for me and right now I feel that is Ohio State."
Jones said he is still talking to a school in the ACC and a couple in the SEC the most outside of Ohio State. He will likely visit all three in the coming months.
"I do not have any visits set up right now other than the one to Ohio State, but I do think I will get back to Florida, Florida State and Georgia sometime this spring or summer," said Jones.
"I have looked at the depth chart at Florida and I know they could use another quarterback, so I like their coaches and I think I would have an opportunity to play early there. At Florida State, I really like how they produce players and what they do with their offense, so I want to get back down there soon and spend more time with the coaches.
"Georgia is a school that is not too far from home and I have known Kirby Smart since he was at Alabama, so I like our relationship. It is a school I will visit again."
The Gators, Seminoles and Bulldogs are still in this race, but they are all way behind the Buckeyes. Jones feels good about his decision. Other schools are still in pursuit, but it will not be easy to flip this one from Meyer and company.
"It would take something crazy happening for me to change my mind," said Jones. "I really cannot even say what it would have to be. It would have to be a big issue with the coaching staff, the school or something like that.
"I am still strong to Ohio State."
