Kyle Jackson Sets Up First Visit

After a rain-soaked visit to Tallahassee for the Miami-FSU game, Neptune Beach (Fla.) Fletcher safety Kyle Jackson has started to get the ball rolling on narrowing down his list of colleges for official visits.
“I wish it had been dry just so I could see the athletes,” Jackson said. “They really couldn’t make the cuts they wanted to but all in all it was a good game.”

Luckily Jackson remembered to bring a poncho to the game or it could have been a whole lot worse for the Rivals.com four-star safety.
Along with his visit to FSU, Jackson has attended two games at the University of Florida. Jackson saw Florida dismantle Florida A&M and was one of the many prospects who watched in the sweltering heat as Casey Clausen led the Tennessee Volunteers to a victory over the Gators in the Swamp.
“Tennessee was a real good game but it was really hot,” Jackson said.
With some unofficial visits out of the way, Jackson has picked one school for an official visit. On Dec. 17, Jackson will make the trek to Tuscaloosa, Ala., for an official visit with the Alabama Crimson Tide.
With his visit to Alabama already setup, Jackson has two other teams in mind for official visits as well.
“Florida and Florida State are up there,” Jackson said.
Many people have stated that Jackson is as good as delivered to the Florida Gators but with his official visit set up with the Crimson Tide and his desire to take five official visits, Jackson is keeping his options open and doesn’t have a timetable for a commitment anytime soon.
“Not yet,” Jackson said.
As of now Jackson’s top three are Florida, Florida State and Alabama. With 20 offers, including the previously mentioned schools and others from Michigan, LSU, and Nebraska to name a few, Jackson certainly has some premier schools to choose from.
Jackson remains great friends with Gator sophomore running back and Fletcher alum Ciatrick Fason. The two keep in touch constantly and the Sunday after the Gators’ big win at LSU, Jackson sat down to watch the game. He was extremely pleased to see the performance Fason put on as he rushed for 92 yards and had a 35-yard touchdown reception in the Gators’ 19-7 win.
“That’s my boy,” Jackson said. “I am just glad that they are finally giving him a chance.”
Although he is happy for his buddy Fason, Jackson should be patting himself on the back as well for his performance thus far this season. Jackson has helped Fletcher to a 5-1 record on the season. He has 36 tackles, and two interceptions playing defense. On offense he has 11 receptions for 154 yards and one touchdown. But being the team player Jackson is, he will not take all the credit for his team’s success.
“We have 10 seniors on defense so that is helping out a lot,” Jackson said.
His best game though came in Fletcher’s 27-13 win over Jacksonville (Fla.) Sandalwood. In that game, Jackson had 15 tackles and a kickoff return for a touchdown.
