"They've done a great job. These young wideouts, Zach Azzanni's doing a wonderful job with them. They're coming along. They're learning every day. We've got a big week coming up."
On how the offense looked in Saturday's scrimmage:
"It was a typical, early scrimmage. There were a lot of good things and things we need to improve."
On Brantley's improvements compared to this time last year:
"He's doing a much better job of leadership and taking command of the offense. It's his time to step up and be the leader and he's taking that challenge on and doing a good job."
On Brantley's mechanics:
"Everyday we're working on mechanical issues. He's improving, but that's an every day deal.
"That will be an every day deal the rest of his career."
On how Brantley handled game-like situations in Saturday's scrimmage:
"Johnny did a fairly good job today going to the right place with the ball. We just got to make plays when plays present themselves. When the play's not there, obviously, protect the football. That's our plan to win around here - protect the football. We need to protect the football and make sure that we do a great job helping our team continue to win."
On Burton's progress since spring:
"He's a typical, young freshman learning every day. He did some really good things, he did some things we need to clean up these next couple weeks."
On whether or not Burton has been named the backup:
"We still have quite a long ways to go in training camp before we do that. We'll see where we're at at the end of training camp."
Comparing Burton and fellow freshman Murphy:
"Trey and Tyler I look at the same way, they're in the same boat. They're true freshmen trying to learn an offense."
