McElwain Press Conference Blog: Franks to start this weekend
Coming off of a disappointing loss to Michigan in the season opener Florida head coach Jim McElwain met with the media on Monday with many questions needing to be answered.
The following are highlights from McElwain’s press conference:
* McElwain complimented the great environment. He felt like the Florida fans came out in force. A lot of orange and blue. He felt like the environment was not too big for the young guys.
* Injury Report: MRI’s on Chauncey Gardner and DeAndre Goolsby and he is waiting on the results. Kyle Trask, on Thursday, got rolled up and his foot looks like it may get a pin on it.
* McElwain points to Shawn Davis, Brad Stewart and Jeawon Taylor needing to step up with Gardner sidelined and Nick Washington dealing with shoulder problems.
* Florida is going back to Feleipe Franks as the starter for this week. McElwain said both Franks and Malik Zaire did some good things.
