GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Marco Wilson burst onto the scene last year as a true freshman, following in his brother's footsteps as a cornerback. Wilson flashed great coverage skills and rarely gave up a play on his side of the field.
If you ask him, though, it wasn’t all that impressive.
“Honestly, I wasn’t impressed with my freshman season,” Wilson said. “I know I got a lot more to do. I don’t even, like, pay attention to what everybody says. Like I’m good, this, nah. I know I got a lot more to go and a lot of work to do because I want to be the best. I want to be known as the best and I want to end up going onto the next level, and when I get to the next level, I want to be the best there too.”
Now into his first spring under Todd Grantham, Wilson is brimming with confidence and eager to make a splash, saying he's much "smarter" from a year ago as well.
