Recruiting Hot Board: Offensive Backfield

With the summer camps season now behind us, Florida has but one more big recruiting event before the start of the 2016 football season - Friday Night Lights in late July.

Inside the Gators takes a position by position look at what the Recruiting Hot Board looks like here in mid June.

-----

Note: Since it appears that Florida is done at quarterback, Jake Allen was included in the backfield instead of doing the quarterback position by itself.

-----

THE SKINNY 6/17: Allen remains the lone quarterback commit for Florida in the 2017 class, and likely the only pure signal caller the Gators will take. Allen hasn’t mentioned any other programs pursuing him still since he ended his recruitment last summer. He plans to be on campus at some point this summer, likely for Friday Night Lights in July. This will give the Florida staff a chance to work hands on with their four-star commitment.

THE SKINNY 6/17: Despite his commitment to North Carolina the Gators have kept in touch with Lemons. Florida has the advantage of being in-state, giving Lemons the ability to check out campus easily if he so chooses. Lemons seems fairly solid with the Tarheels currently, but he is planning to take visits down the road, which could lead to an interesting recruiting predicament down the stretch. Florida stopped by to see Lemons twice this spring with the most recent visit coming for his spring game.
