FIVE-STAR SETS FLORIDA OFFICIAL VISIT

As was reported a bit further down The Wire, earlier today Florida visited with five-star defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon.

The visit paid dividends as he has now set up an official visit to Florida.

QUARTERBACK NEWS FROM ALA-MISS ALL-STAR PRACTICE

Four-star quarterback Miles Brennan says Florida hasn't reached out to him yet, but the LSU commit says he heard the Gators are interested.

Also, commit Kadarius Toney is listed as an athlete, but he says Florida recruited him strictly as a quarterback.

Florida coaches are still trying to flip Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity five-star cornerback Shaun Wade from Ohio State.

FLORIDA VISITING WITH FIVE-STAR LINEMAN TODAY

At one time, way back before he committed and then decommitted from Michigan, Florida was actually the leader for newly minted five-star defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon. However, while he still mentions the Gators somewhat, he has other leaders.

Florida is trying to get back in the picture today with a visit to see him.

While other coaching staffs have been on the road this week recruiting, Florida's coaches have been instead prepping for the SEC Championship Game this weekend. Now that the bulk of that prep work is behind them, the Gators coaches will hit the road this afternoon.

Florida will mostly see their top in-state targets, including two five-stars who are committed to other programs.
