Rivals Camp Weekend Preview

The Rivals Camp Series presented by Under Armour will hit the Sunshine State this weekend with stops in Orlando and Miami. There will be well over 150 top prospects at each stop, with many of these kids on Florida's radar early on.

Today, Inside the Gators highlights some of the key names to keep an eye on this weekend.

Central Florida takes center stage

The Orlando camp, which is set to begin on Saturday morning, will be highlighted by four of Florida's current 2014 commitments.

That group includes Cross City (Fla.) Dixie County Rivals250 cornerback Duke Dawson, Fort Myers (Fla.) Dunbar Rivals250 wide receiver Ryeshene Bronson, Jacksonville (Fla.) Raines offensive guard Travaris Dorsey, and Deland (Fla.) offensive tackle Benjamin Knox.

As for Gator targets, the list is quite long, for the Orlando showcase especially.

Orlando (Fla.) Winter Park defensive end Trent Harris is one of the biggest names for Florida fans to keep an eye on. The Gators are Harris' current leader and he grew up a huge fan of the Orange and Blue.

Another talented lineman that will be in attendance is Wauchula (Fla.) Hardee Rivals100 defensive end Keyon Brown. The Gators have yet to offer this four-star end, but are a school, that according to Brown, is actively recruiting him.

Two Jacksonvillle area Rivals100 linebackers, who are looking at Florida to some degree, will also come out to compete. Ponte Vedra's (Fla.) Dillon Bates and Sandalwood's Kain Daub are both scheduled to be on hand.

Just this past weekend Bates was in Gainesville to watch UF practice. That was his second time visiting the Gators this spring. Alabama and Florida State are Daub's current top two. However, he grew up a Florida fan and has mentioned interest in UF in the past. Even with that being the case, the Gators still look like a team on the outside looking in.

There are two top defensive backs on Florida's radar that will compete on Saturday, one holds an offer the other does not. Lakeland (Fla.) Lake Gibson safety Kendall Gant was offered by the Gators this past fall and is highly interested. Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln Rivals250 cornerback Kendall Randolph will also be in attendance. Florida has yet to offer him, but is a school that he is in regular talks with.

The offensive targets for this camp will not be as deep, but still there are a few worth mentioning.

Traveling down from Gainesville will be Rivals250 running back Tony James, who has previously told Inside the Gators that UF holds a slight edge.

St. Petersburg (Fla.) Catholic Rivals250 offensive tackle Reilly Gibbons was offered by the Gators this spring and will showcase his talents against many of the top defenders in the state this weekend.

Tampa (Fla.) Catholic athlete T.J. Harrell and Tampa (Fla.) Jesuit athlete Vincent Jackson Jr. are two bay area prospects to keep tabs on.

Not only will there be some of the biggest names from the state of Florida in the 2014 class on the field, but there are also a select few prospects from 2015 who were invited to this premiere event and are worth watching out for.

Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast linebacker Sherrod Pittman, Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian linebacker Jeffrey Holland are some of the best juniors to be to watch. Both hold offers and are very much considering the Gators.

South Florida's elite prospects ready to represent

The Miami camp on Sunday also has plenty of names competing that have Florida in the conversation.

Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade Madonna Rivals100 defensive tackle Khairi Clark is one of the biggest names in the nation as far as interior lineman go. The hometown Miami Hurricanes are an early leader for his services, but a trip to Florida is in the works for this spring. Also Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas Rivals250 defensive tackle Anthony Moten, who is ready to do battle on Sunday, has the Gators in his current top ten along with FSU, Miami, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Arkansas, USC, Alabama, Clemson and Tennessee.

A big name defensive end competing Sunday that holds an offer from the Gators is Miami (Fla.) Booker T. Washington's Chad Thomas.

Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) University school four-star linebacker Richard Yeargin III is one of the top names at his respected position scheduled to be in attendance. The Gators offered this spring and look to be a real player for his services.

A pair of top defensive backs, who have been offered by Florida, will be on hand. They are Plantation (Fla.) defensive back Chris Lammons, who has compiled strong offer list this spring, and Miami (Fla.) Booker T. Washington athlete Treon Harris. This could be an interesting camp for Harris, who usually plays quarterback in high school, but is being recruited primarily at corner by the Gators and a couple of other schools.

On the offensive side of the ball, the targets to keep an eye on Sunday are primarily playing running back and wide out.

The wide outs are headlined by Homestead (Fla.) Rivals100 wide receiver Ermon Lane, who has Alabama, Florida, LSU, Georgia and Miami as his early standouts.

Two other wide receivers that Florida is very much in the running for are West Palm Beach (Fla.) Cardinal Newman's Travis Rudolph. Rudolph visited Florida this spring for a junior day and left very impressed and has since named Florida as one of his top schools. Then there's Dwyer's Johnnie Dixon. Though he has not named leaders, he has visited previously and has the Gators very high on his list.

Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas Rivals250 wide out Corey Holmes is another wide out with a Florida offer, however the Gators don't seem to be a school high on his list.

The biggest offensive target to showcase his talents this Sunday will be Miami (Fla) Central Rivals100 running back Dalvin Cook. Though he has been committed to Clemson since June of last year, he is still in talks with quite a few schools, and the Gators are one of them.

As for 2015 talent who are hearing from the Gators and scheduled to be on hand - the most notable are Miramar (Fla.) cornerback Tyrek Cole, who has Florida in his top three and Palmetto Bay (Fla.) Westminister Christian wide receiver Tim Irvin, who is the nephew of former Miami Hurricane and Dallas Cowboy standout Michael Irvin.
