Several prospects competing in the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge have Florida on their list of schools. Inside the Gators had a chance to speak with several of them over the weekend.
Rivals100 wide receiver Sam Bruce:
What he wanted to accomplish in Baltimore...
"It's not secret I came to get my last star and be a five-star on Rivals. I am trying to show size doesn't matter that is my goal for the weekend. I am out here to show my speed and how I can break away and also my hands and how I catch the ball."
Status of Miami commitment...
"Everything is strong and how it should be. I love the staff at Miami and the team and where the program is going. I am looking forward to see them shake up the ACC this season."
Other schools in contact...
"I hear from Florida, Florida State, Ohio State, Alabama, and Auburn. Those are the main ones."
Thoughts on Florida...
"The spring game was exceptional they have some guys coming in and should win some games. I have no doubt in my mind that Jordan Scarlett is going to tear the SEC up. It's all love from Florida."
Summer visits...
"I am definitely looking to get to Alabama, Auburn, and Ohio State. I want to try to see some places out of the state that is my goal. I want to see if it makes me feel okay about leaving home."
Have you thought about official visits this Fall?
"I have but I haven't set anything. Miami will definitely get one that is a given. They can change, but if I picked today it would probably be Ohio State, Auburn, Florida State, and Florida."

Rivals250 offensive guard Terrance Davis:
Message from Florida staff...
"Coach [Mike] Summers direct messages me a lot and really stresses me getting down there and visiting the school.
Summer visit plans...
"I don't have any dates yet but I am looking into a few places. I want to visit Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee."
Florida visit expectations...
"I was to see The Swamp I haven't ever been and I hear it's pretty special. The Florida fans I experience on social media are amazing so I am excited to see that up close. They have a winning tradition and I watched them when I was little beating up on people. That draws me."
Thoughts on the Florida coaching staff...
"Coach Summers seems like a no nonsense kind of guy and seems pretty straightforward and he expects a lot out of his players."
Leaders?
"I made a top 10 [Alabama, FSU, UGA, Tennessee, Arkansas, UCLA, Maryland, Penn State, Michigan, and Virginia Tech. That was before Florida offered though so I have to rearrange. You could say a top 11"
2017 four-star offensive tackle Wyatt Davis:
On spring visit...
"It was a great experience and I got a chance to go up and watch practice and see how it all works there. I had a great time down there and was able to talk with coach like Mike Summers briefly and see him coach his players."
Thoughts on Mike Summers...
"I thought he did everything really good and he even told me they are down on numbers along the line. I thought he was coaching up the guys he had really good. They look really good I thought they looked really good for it being a practice. They went hard but not hard enough to like hurt anyone since it was practice."
Thoughts on the rest of the staff...
"My dad and I got to talk with Coach [Jim] McElwain when we visited and that was good he is very genuine and I liked that. Coach [Tim] Skipper actually recruits my area and came by to see me this spring. He recruited my brother so I know of him and really like him."
2017 four-star wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones:
What he hears from Florida...
"Coach [Kerry] Dixon and I have been talking for a while and he offered me earlier this spring. He wants me to get down on a visit. I look forward to meeting him down the road he seems like a great guy. He said he needs a big receiver like me."
Visit plans this summer...
"I am going to visit Florida in July at the end of the month for their big camp [Friday Night Lights] I think it's the 24th. I grew up a Florida fan when they had Percy Harvin and Tim Tebow so I am familiar with them. I am going to USC and hopefully LSU."
Early standouts...
"Really all of the schools that offered me stick out right now. I am not rushing anything and I don't want to shut anyone out. Ohio State and Michigan are recruiting me really hard and so is USC."
2017 four-star athlete Jeffrey Okudah:
Contact with Florida...
"I talk with Coach [Kirk] Callahan on twitter and stuff like that and coach [Randy] Shannon actually came by my school last week. They like me a lot and what I can bring to the table."
Thoughts on Florida...
"They have a great defensive back history at Florida and that means a lot. I saw them and LSU going back and forth a bit so that was cool to see. I was in class the other day watching the Florida-Florida State game, and even though they lost their DB's really break well on the ball and that is somewhere I can see myself making an impact at."
Visits this summer...
"I am going to visit Florida in July that is the only visit I have for that month right now. In June I am going to visit Tennessee, Ohio State, USC, and UCLA."
Any leaders?
"Not yet, but I would like to have things narrowed down before the start of my junior season. I am going to take some visit this summer and then pick a few that I like."
