Rivals250 lineman changes visit plans

An extended run in in the playoffs by Miami (Fla.) Monsignor Pace has caused four-star offensive lineman Greg Shaw to make a change in his official visit schedule. Last week the Pace took out Cardinal Gibbons. Their reward - a face off against powerhouse Belle Glade (Fla.) Glades Central.

"Since we have our playoff game Friday night, I'm not going on my official visit to Florida this weekend. I'm switching it until after the season. I can still take this visit as an unofficial visit. Go up and see a good game and talk to the coaches. But I want to save my officials for when the playoffs are over."

The Gators aren't the only school in line for a post season visit. According to Shaw he will see a couple of programs over the next two months.

"If I can I might take one in December, but if not I'll go to Florida, Georgia Tech and South Florida in January."

Shaw has already been to LSU.

Several years ago, the detailed recruiting exploits of his brother, former Hurricane commitment Willie Williams sent shock-waves through the recruiting world and brought about changes in the way the recruiting process now takes place.

Shaw said that he has been able to lean on his brother's experiences to help him get through the process.

"He told me to take it slow and don't fall in love with the first school you visit or the first coach that tells you what you want to hear. He said think it all through and sign with the school that you believe has your best interests at heart."

Of his four finalists, Shaw had this to say, "There's not a leader in my mind. I'll wait and take all my visits and see what the depth charts look like and how I get along with the players on the team and the coaches."

For his part, Shaw has leads the 9-2 Spartan's line with 65 pancake blocks on the season.
